About the author
Marina Tsvetaeva (1892-1941) was a Russian poet and memoirist. Her work was admired by many poets of her time, including Rainer Maria Rilke, Boris Pasternak, and Joseph Brodsky, among others; and after long years of obscurity, she has finally taken her place among the foremost Russian and European poets of the twentieth century. Moscow in the Plague Year, a collection of her poems written between November 1918 and May 1920—while her husband fought against the Bolsheviks, and she was trapped in Moscow with two young daughters and no means to care for them—will be published later this year by Archipelago Books.
