A Public Space Books are distributed by PGW (Publishers Group West). The magazine is distributed by PGW and Disticor.

Submissions

A Public Space has several reading periods throughout the year for unsolicited submissions to the magazine. During these periods, submissions of fiction, essays, translations, poetry, as well as graphic and hybrid work are accepted via Submittable. Reading periods are announced through the website, newsletter, and social media.

A Public Space Books does not accepted unsolicited manuscripts at the moment.

Employment

There are currently no open positions at A Public Space.

Readers and Internships

A Public Space accepts applications for our volunteer summer internship program annually between February 1–28, with decisions made by March 15. The internship program provides practical experience in critical reading, research, copyediting, and fact-checking; marketing and publicity, including social media and events; and an overview of an independent nonprofit literary organization as well as an introduction to the publishing community. Please apply via Submittable.

A Public Space accepts readership applications on a rolling basis. If you are interested in becoming a reader, please email A Public Space at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your resume and a brief note on why you'd like to read for a literary magazine. If there are no current openings, we will keep your information on file.
