Magazine
An In-Between Issue
May 28, 2020
A Public Space No. 28.5 is a collection of free-access pieces from the magazine's archive, a kind of in-between issue for an in-between time. From Antarctica to Berlin; prizewinners and debut publications; letters rescued from a safe-deposit box and stories nearly lost to history; travel diaries from the fourteenth century and a poem of twenty-first century spring. This ancient impulse, in a multitude of incarnations.
The issue will be updated weekly with stories, essays, poems, art, and interviews from the magazine's history; and will be free and available for all. As always, subscribers receive access to the magazine's entire archive, with work from Samanta Schweblin, Dorthe Nors, Saadat Hasan Manto, John Keene, Yiyun Li, Amy Leach, Bette Howland, Garth Greenwell, Elisa Gabbert, Kathleen Collins, Jamel Brinkley, and others—along with three new issues annually, and invitations to special events. Subscribers are an essential part of A Public Space. Please consider joining us today..
