About the author

​Petina Gappah is a Zimbabwean writer whose work has appeared in Prospect, The Zimbabwe Times, and the website of Granta. She has law degrees from Cambridge, Graz University, and the University of Zimbabwe and works in Geneva as an international trade lawyer. The story in this issue will appear in her debut short story collection, An Elegy for Easterly, which will be published this summer by Faber and Faber, Inc., an affiliate of Farrar, Straus and Giroux.
